Public Marketplace apps now require data usage disclosures, AI usage disclosures (when applicable), and compliance with the Sitecore security checklist to ensure trust, transparency, and security for all users. Developers provide this information before submitting their public app for approval from Sitecore.
Data usage disclosure - describe how the app collects, stores, and processes data.
AI usage disclosure - if the app uses AI or machine learning in any capacity, describe how the app uses artificial intelligence and complies with relevant regulations.
Sitecore security checklist - ensure the app complies with the Sitecore security requirements.
After publishing the app, the disclosures appear in the public Marketplace to help users understand how their data is handled.
These requirements ensure that all public Marketplace apps meet high standards for security, privacy, and transparency, protecting both Sitecore organizations and end users.
If you already have a public app
The new security requirements also apply to Marketplace apps that are already published or submitted for approval. If you have such an app, go to its configuration page in App studio to add the necessary disclosures and confirm compliance with the Sitecore security checklist.
